hello, need help with the remote start by pass, which unit actually works, I tried the one from bypass kit, but it did not work, also the alarm i used is the ultra start 4255, having trouble with the alarm going off around 45 minutes when armed, can someone tell me if I need to do anything special on the door trigger? crew cab thanks

I remember reading something about this (45 minute delay before alarm trips) in another forum. If memory serves me right, Ford has the GEM set to go in powersaving mode after some set time period and as a result some of the voltages drop which could be causing your alarm to register as a door trigger. I don't know what to tell you as far as fixing it, but hopefully this will get you started in the right direction. TonyPTX

You can fix this one of two ways: 1. diode isolate your door triggers using this diagram; https://www.directechs.com/techtips/pdfs/resources/security/directed_techtips/1076.pdf or 2. you can catch your dome light wire which is a (+) door trigger. Either method will fix your problem. ------------- Do it right the first time

Use a relay to isolate the door trigger wire and that will fix your problem.

YOu will need a relay and diode combination in order to make it work. I have 2001 expy and have installed several lcd paging alarms on a lot of ford Expeditions/Navigators and f-150 trucks. Actually, Jeff brought this to my attention originally and it works flawlessly with Ford vehicles and Dodge RAM Pickups. Odd....I'm about to install a Ford PowerCode Deluxe RKE/VSS system and after reviewing the installation instructions and wiring diagrams, Ford doesn't call out the need to use any additional relays/diodes for alarm trigger. I'm wondering if they incorporated some of the "smarts" into the hardware of their PowerCode systems. Tony

I didn't state this, but obviously this is a Ford PowerCode system installed in a 2003 Ford F-150 SCrew vehicle...

Which bypass kit did you use ? You have to make sure that you catched the proper wires for the PKF module AFTER the junction plug on the PATS connector. If you use a key required bypass module, then you have to ensure that the positioning of the key is exact for these modules or the signal will not be induced properly.
