i believe the intelliguard 6000 is a G4 remote.  i could be wrong, but it works with the same remotes as the intelliguard 7000.  you can get replacement remotes from https://www.autotechs.com  the replacement remotes for the 5 button master is around 70 bux and the 4 button is around 40 or so.  it might be different now.  this site seems to be the only place you can get them easily.  they are based in florida and i have ordered from them with no problem before.

i would say it is.  the only differences between the 6000 and 7000 series intelliguard are the add-ons and features.  i believe that the main differences are the proximity sensors and glass sensor.  but all together they are the same thing.  go to www.directed.com and choose the clifford link.  it will show you the exact differences.  the only drawback to these alarms is the price.  they are really expensive.  the 9000 i think has remote start and all the goodies but it's pretty much the same only costs more.  you'll see what i mean.  if you need any help on this install, let me know.

hmmm...that's gonna be a little tricky but i should be able to help a little.  are you familiar with the wiring setup of your car/truck?  cuz if you're not, it's gonna be hard as f**k to get the right wiring.  and also, do you have the wiring diagram of the alarm itself?

G4 or G5 remotes will work. G3 WILL NOT.
Look here for model numbers: https://www.directed.com/guides/transref.asp

since this alarm has no remotes, do I have to purchase a master remote?

no, you can just buy a 4button remote.  it will work just the same.  however, if you don't buy the master remote, you may not be able to adjust the sensitivity of the alarm.  unless it's able to do so on the brain of the unit.  i would suggest buying the master remote along with a 4button one.  just in case.

ig 6000 does not have remotely adjustable sensors, it originally came with two 4 button remotes, master will still work, but you don't need it
