I have an `98 Eclipse with an Alpine alarm/remote entry system was installed in `01. On saturday uninstalled old stereo and now when the alarm it armed the parking light fuse blows out. The fuse is fine as long as I do not arm the car. There is currently no stereo in it. (I don't cur wires, I used a wiring harness).
Any help on where I should look would be great.

was something on the alarm somhow tied into the stereo wiring???

No, I installed the stereo a year before the alarm was installed. I didn't do anything, but unplug the harness.
Is it possible that a diode went bad? I was just reading about them, this site is a great resource.
any other questions let me know.

find out which wire on the alarm is for the parking lights and trace it to the point where it connects to the car.....disconnect the wire and arm the alarm...if everything works good, turn on the parking lights and then reconnect the wire from the alarm to the car...then try to arm it again...see what happens...also while you have it DC, use a meter and see if the wire coming from the alarm has 12v when you are and disarm the alarm....if you dont show 12v, put the red lead of your meter to 12v and put the black lead to the alarm parking light wire. then arm and disarm again....if the meter shows 12v then you have a bad alarm. that means the output is not working like it should be....
i typed this fast so dont count the miss spelled words...

if your car and brain have the option, use (-) parking lights or (+) if its already (-).

It could be coincedence, so check all your bulbs and make sure the car's fuse doesn't blow when you use the factory switch.
