I have used the technique of using 22ga. wire and raping it around the key 10 times and the lock cylinder twice. Then running the two end of the wire through the open contacts of a relay and power that up with an ING 3 output of the remote starter. Could I permanently hook it up so I can use a normally key? I have played a bit with this and know when this is done other chipped key will not work. I just seeing if anyone know of trouble of leaving transponder hooked up all the time would give me any trouble. Or maybe I should continue to use the relay and use one of the ING wire of the car to power up the relay gust like the Remote starter system does. PS. I am putting in a remote starter too.

why not just buy a proper dedicated bypass module and be done with it??

Why pay $30-$40 to a job I can do with less then $10. I’ve used this method many times and it works great. The bypass modules do it all resistor and transponder type systems. That is partly why they are more expensive. You only use halve the parts in it. Also this way the manufacture know you have the right system because they sold it all to you. It would be buying an alarm system with keyless entry and putting it in a car with no doors. For the resistor type vehicles all you need is a $2 variable resistor and a relay also < $10. Why pay $200 for a system when a $100 system would work fine. This post is for another system I am installing. He only has 1 key and doesn’t want to spend the $70+ to buy another key. I thought I may permanently fake out the car with the bypass system.

Why bother using a transponder at all? Depending on the type of vehicle they can be permanently disabled.

if you want to permanately disable it just cut the chip out of the key and silicone it to the ignition switch (but thoroughly test the operation of the key cause if its not placed right your guy will bu stuck without a starting car i would stop being cheap and get another key )as far as passlock with a $2 resistor just waight until it gets -20 out and see what happens if you been around for13+ years like me its worth paying a little now instead of alot later and most customers can respect that
