I have a 2000 grand prix gtp, this seems to happen about 50 percent of the time and haven't been able to pinpoint the reason.  I press the arm button and it does like normal, but then chirps like I left the door open, but this isn't the reason or else it would show up on my fob (pager).  I have the shock sensor and proximity sensor installed.  What causes this?

when I press the arm button, the interiors turn off instantly...I do not have the alarm unit hooked to the dome light output

When you close the door it shakes the vehicle and triggers the shock sensor. If you arm the alarm within 2 seconds of closing the door you will usually get an extra chirp on the remote and it will flash sensor 1 (shock). If you wait longer after closing the door before arming then the shock sensor has time to settle down and won't give a beep.

turn the door warning chirp off, then test all of your triggers about 30 seconds after you arm the car.  if both doors still work and so does shock, youre fine.  sometimes a dome delay or not diode isolating properly will give that chirp, but if you did those right you should be fine.

Matt, Do you have beads or anything hanging from your mirror? I had this problem at one time and it was the radar picking up the beads that were still moving.

If I turn the door warning chirp off, will it also be off for the other sensors?
