I am installing an ETON II remote starter and alarm on my 1999 Explorer Sport. I was wondering if someone could send me a diagram so I can see how I need to connect all of the wires. Some are pretty easy but others I have no clue about. There are two wires that just say "ON1.(blue)" "ON2.(ORANGE)" I was wondering what in the world those go to????
Thanks,
Brent Catoe

I have a few more question about my remote starter/alarm .

How do I wire the starte up to the lights, it says that I have to hook it up to the right and left lights but it does not explain how to do this? What does it mean by "up" and "down" on the door lock diagram? Is up unlocked and down locked. Also does a 99 explorer have a "central lock with the lock motor on the door of teh driver seat" , " a centra lock with only a lock on the door of the driver seat" or "a central lock with a lock switch" I am sorry for asking so man question but the wiring diagram that came with my alarm is really crappy.

Thanks,

Sounds crappy.. I would assume as you said that up is unlock and down is locked. As for locks I would go with the lock switch option.

As for the lights any idea what the two wires are each fused at? Basically in the explorer your only going to have 1 wire for the parking lights. (I'm showing it as violet/white (+) in the driver kick panel) If the one wire is fused high enough you could only use one of the two, but if not you would want to use both OR just add a relay off of one of the outputs. Hope it helps good luck sounds like quite the unit..

Well I mainly need to know how to wire the keyless entry up, I have 3 wires on my alarm, one is yellow, yellow and black, and green, the yellow and yelllow black are supposed to be wired together and go to the common wire?? and the green is supposed to go to the up wire??? Does taht make any sense, that is exactly what the instructions say

I started to wire my remote starter/alarm today and I got the alarm and the keyless entry to work finally. However I cannot get the Remote Starter to work. The wiring diagram on my alarm (ETON II) said to run a yellow wire to "starter", does it mean to the actual starter or just to the ignition harness" also my vehicle (99 Ford Explorer) has 3 ignition wires, my alarm has no labeled outputs for ignition wires, it has 3 different wires that are labeled "on" on the diagram. Can somebody please help me figure out what I need to do to get the remote starter working?

THanks,

The starter wire means in the ignition harness. According to the tech sheet its RED / Lt Blue.  The other ignition wires you can see in the diagram below. If you got a manual it will probably say that on is for ignition on.

Thanks, I have a few more questions though, You said that the Starter goes to the RED / lt blue wire, I wired the ignition cut wire to that one so that might be the problem? Should I wire teh ignition cut wire to another ignition wire. Included with the alarm was a features page which says that the unit contains "Multiplexed PATS, VATS and factory alrm-disarm outputs". I do now know if my vehicle has PATS or not, I know that all 98 and above explorers do but I am not sure about the explore sports, I am finding contradictory information on the internet. If it does have PATS though how would I disarm it using the alarm/remote starter I bought? The only extra wires I have or 3 different wires that say "on". Can somebody please help me

Is this ignition cut wire your talking about for the alarm? Sounds like a starter kill. You would need to connect the remote starters start wire to the starter side of that wire. Im pretty sure you have the pats. As far as how with your particular unit hopefully someone else has used it and can help or maybe your manual tells you what to do?

Ok so I need to hook up the starter kill to the start wire, and run the starter wire off of my alarm to the starter wire? As for having a manual, it didnt come with what I would call a manual, it came with a sheet of paper for the wiring diagram, another sheet listing its features, and another sheet that has a picture of how to install the tach wire.

THanks,
Brent

first of all if you want to test to see if your remote starter will work, take off teh starter kill and just tape teh starter wire from alarm to the explorer'starter wire. this way it doesnt confuse ya

if successful, go ahead w/ the starter kill relay.

I recently installed a remote starter/alarm on my ford explorer. I hooked up the keyless entry and the remote for the new alarm works fine, it unlocks and locks the doors. The only problem is now my factory keyless entry does not work, not even from the inside, I can hit the unlock button and nothing happens, does anybody know what might be causing this.

Thanks,
Brent Catoe

Check the fuse under the engine bay or under the driver's side kick panel.

My radio, winshield wiper, cruis control, and power door locks do not work so I am assuming it is a fuse somewhere, I will check tomorrow. My alarm though has + and - outputs for a door switch, I guess so the alarm can sound if the door is opened, however I cannot find any diagrams on the net to show me were to locate these on my 99 explorer, if someone knows where I can find them let me know.

Thanks
