anyone have the wiring diagram for a 2004 impala ls. im going to install a remote/security system (PAN AM or some junk like that) for my sisters boyfriends brother. also which bypass is used with this vehicle? i also read some horror story of like 15 relays for the door locks (BS in my mind) but i bet there is some junk for the locks any info/tips would help.

the locks are controlled by a data bus cable.  the only way to interface is with a bypass that hooks to the purple wire og the obd2 port.  Such as a 456G made by directed.  also you'll need a 555l if your going to install a remote start.  i don't have a diagram but most the colors are the same and have been for many years.  except parking lights the newere cars have switched to negative usually a gry/blk wire.

12volts red  +  ignition harness
Starter yellow  +  ignition harness
Second Starter N/A    
Ignition pink  +  ignition harness
Second Ignition green  +  ignition harness
Third Ignition     
Accessory orange  +  ignition harness
Second Accessory brown  +  ignition harness
Notes: This wire must be powered as an accessory wire. If powered as a 2nd igition the car will not crank.
Keysense     
Power Lock ORANGE / black  -  gray 24 pin plug at BCM
Notes: Lock requires a negative trigger thru a 470 ohm resistor. Unlock is a straight negative trigger. MUST use relays.

The BCM (Body Control Module) is located above the brake pedal. It is a plastic box with three plugs that face the firewall.
Power Unlock same wire as power lock    
Lock Motor see notes    
Notes: Installation of factory keyless upgrade alarm is not recommended on this vehicle because the door lock motor wires rest at approximately 7 volts.
Unlock Motor see lock motor notes    
Parking Lights+ do not use    
Parking Lights- white  -  pink 24 pin plug at BCM
Notes: The BCM (Body Control Module) is located above the brake pedal. It is a plastic box with three plugs that face the firewall.

Must isolate this wire from the BCM to avoid the service engine soon light. See DirectFax document 1600 for wiring information.
Hazards     
Turn Signal(L)     
Turn Signal(R)     
Reverse Light     
Door Trigger blue and blue/white  -  gray 16 pin plug at BCM
Notes: The driver door trigger wire is blue. Blue/white will catch all other doors. Use both wires and diode isolate each.

Power Sliding Door N/A    
Factory Alarm Arm

Disarm No Unlock see factory alarm disarm

Notes: Horn can also be found at a black plug with a blue insert above the gas pedal.

Its not that bad. The door locks you dont need a module for. It is a sngle wire (-) system. (-) to unlcok and (-) thru a 465 ohm resistor to lock. Use a relay like so:

Pin 85 to the (-) lock out put from alarm
Pin 86 to constant 12v+ fused
Pin 30 to the ORANGE / black at fuse box (Lock/unlock wire)
Pin 87a to (-) unlock output from alarm
Pin 87 to ground

If you aren't installing a starter then you dont have to worry about the passlock so it should be a piece of cake.
