hey well in deciding what to get as a remote starter for my car I called AsianWolf.com they said the PRESTIGE 996A is a junk and it is no way compaeble with the alarms they are selling ..!! Is that really true... I'm asking this b/c where ever I go in alarm shops here they tell me that is their best choice even better than valet... Asian Wolf suggests these in order M3600... which I hate the ugly/huge remote on it Valet 554R which I hared that is worse than prestige 996a or 996c and it has big remote Lynx 2000... the remote looks like your 2nd cell phone FM2009 ..well I like that specially it has nice remote and it come with 2 LCD remotes for just 140$ and some others... so I was wondering is PRestige really worse than all this ..(for 150$ on ebay) please advice and help me the choose the best!

if youre to make a comparison to any 2-way by DEI, i would take the prestige over them.

You get what you pay for ! If you wanting something to protect your car and what's in it....... why skimp on the alarm system. Get a reliable system and the cost should not matter ! Most of the time what you spend on an alarm to protect the car and the stuff inside, you will spend on the deductible that the insurance companies charges you after a claim, not to mention the premium increase afterwards !

The FM2009 is like about 6 other systems that I know of and the remote controls are VERY fragile. If you drop them once or twice, they are done for. That's why they give you two of them . The range on them are very good though considering the quality of the units. I have no beef with the Prestige line of products, it's just that I prefer the Compustar for ease of installation and also the warranty they give us here at the shop. I have installed Prestige systems before and the customer's have been very happy with them, but for personal preference as an installer, I like the user functions and the isntaller options that the Compustar gives me. ------------- Jeff

I agree with Velocity to a point.
I have seen some $600 alarms installed and not work any better than a $50 no name alarm. And I have seen some $50 no name alarms work flawlessly as if they were $600 alarms. It all depends upon how it is installed!
So, if you like the Prestige alarm and it's functions, than buy it. If you install it correctly it should work flawlessly for you and you will be happy. A whole lot happier than if you let someone talk you into an alarm your not sure of or know about.
