viper 791/ 02 Civic.

Make sure that you use only the BLACK headed key for programming. The GREY key does not produce a good enough signal for the module to learn. What bypass module are you using ?

That is the bypass that I have.  I did a few more tests. the "key in ignition" beeper doesn not work.  The wire that is supposed to ground when the key is inserted stays hot all the time.  I grounded it to try and get it to learn the key, the light stayed on like it was trying for like 20 min and still no good.

-check your connections again, i used the exact bypass on teh exact car and it works out great.
-check again, one of the wire from the civic is suppose to be cut in half and wire two end to teh bypass. do it if you havent done so.
-have you try to learn the key while the remote start engaging simultaneously w/ the key learning?
-i did it w/ on try and it works flawlessly.

I know the wire you mean....yellow/black.  All of that is hooked up correctly.   I followed the instructions in the learn mode.  I can get the LED to come on, but it never goes out.  The guy who originally helped with the install had two of the bypass wires connected to the wrong place.(The status output...blue, and the data...RED / blue)  Could something have been shorted out?  I am lost

-i really dont understand how the transponder technology work to say for sure that your buddy messed up by plugged in the wrong wire in teh wrong place. lets see if someone on this forum can help you.

alrigt listen as said in every post test your wires first before connect. that car does have a lock out feature but after 20 minutes or so it shuts down as in most chipped key cars. you said that the wire that was supposed to show neg when the key is inserted does not than find the one that does and connect to that instead of the other one. this wire is also something the bypass needs jsut like the status output from the 790
also that alarm has two status output wires they do the same thing but are different. one of them goes on first or before the other one. so switch it and check it out., usually the bypass has either a blue or a blue/white wire on it this tells you the wire dei wants you to connect to. you never know honda may have ran out of that specific wire when making that car. in result changing it to make it work. so do what i said with the keysence wire and try to learn keys again or key again.
i have done that car that bypass so many times i dont think your blew anything out so check make sure you got power good ground and all that also to test cars system alone reconect everything as it was before you stated just regarding the bypass system not the alarm or remote start and then start the car with the key, and then engage the rs with the key in the ignition and the cars theft system hooked up as it was from the factory.
