I want some kind of backup system.. it's still too easy to pop the hood and cut the battery.

What do you think.. is less maintainence or more effective.

I have a backup siren it has 4 wires I don't know how to  hook it up or how it's supposed to work, I think it's same as the DEI backup siren.

Also looking at DEI 520T, how does it work?  Does it just hook to the 12V going to the brain and ground to a point of the car?

With the 520T, you run the alarm's power wire directly to it, and there's another power wire that goes from the 520T to the car's battery. The 520T also has its own ground wire.
