how hard is it to put in alarms?

how hard is it to put in alarms.. i been in the audio system game for a bit of time but never really got into the alarm aspect of things.. i now realized that that u need to know alarms to get hired in most of the places now a days.. so any feedback would be greatly appreciated or if any 1 knows a good place to learn in Bklyn please let me know... thank you....:errr:

Just put one in your own car and you will learn a lot. If you have any friends who want them then put alarms in theirs. If you have good vehicle information like a wire chart, then it is just a matter of locating the wire, testing it and making a connection. Solder your connections. If you have any specific questions then ask them here. Be very detailed when asking questions and you will get better reesponses.

You will want to get into starters too since they are not much more work than an alarm. The new anti-theft devices are fairly simple to bypass with all of the bypasskits out there. Take a look at bypasskit.com to see what i am talking about. You will also want to find out about the databus controlled doorlocks, arming and disarming etc. that a lot of new vehicles use.

I was in the same boat. I basically just read the posts in this forum and did some searching on the net. If you can wire a sound system up you can wire up an alarm. I found this site a while back and it basically gives a complete install instructions on how to put in a basic alarm. I would suggest just getting an alarm and installing it yourself on one of your cars. That's how I learn (and i stll am) how to do it. Plus there are very knowledgable people here that can provide you with lots of info to make your first alarm install go smooth.

The difficulty of an alarm relies mainly on the car and the alarm that's going in.  DEI products are pretty easy to put in, but that could just be due to the fact that we sold more DEI than any other security system.  Lately i've been doing audiovox alarms, which just have more wires, but does the same basic crap...only way to learn is to keep tryin, but like they said before...never hesitate to ask questions.  If you're familiar with circuits then the installation booklets that come with the alarm and/or remote start and a tech sheet explaining where the wires are located in teh car until you get the hang of it should be sufficient
