Hey everyone
I've done some checking on here regarding hooking up the wiring for a remote start on an alero. Also read about unlocking and locking. However, I'm still having some trouble.
I've wired the trunk, and lock correctly or so I take it. The lock i tapped into the white wire under the driver side dash that is in the bunch that leads into the door. For the unlock however I've had no luck. I've tried a few different ideas I've seen. I've tried tapping into the same white wire in a different spot with the unlock wire on the system wrapped around a 1.5k ohm resistor and the resistor wrapped on the white wire. No luck
I've tried the wire+resistor to the white wire in the BCM, white wire in the fuse panel. Even tried it with and without resistor to the top left pin on the door unlock relay. Goin crazy on this one hehe.
I read that a relay is necessary in most of the articles I've seen, not too sure what I need exactly though or how to hook this one up. Anyone know how to go about this or have any luck on it?

Yeah you need a relay to provide a strong enough ground pulse through the resistor. It is a single wire system, so you have the right wire. Just to prove it to you, solder two pieces of wire to each end of the resistor, then hold one wire to a piece of metal and then strip back a section of the white wire you have already tapped with the lock output and touch it to the bare wire. The doors will unlock. Or you can just trust me and hook up a relay like this:
Pin 85 to (-) unlock output from alarm
Pin 86 to 12v+ constant
Pin 30 to the white Lock/unlock wire you already tapped.
Pin 87a to the (-) lock output
Pin 87 to one end of the resistor and the other end of the resistor to chassis ground
