I installed one of those for a friend and was purdy confused with that wire since 99.9% of starters on the martket use a tach input. I am almost positive I found the oil wire but it didnt work, so I found out that using 12v+ constant works for that wire. I am guessing by connecting that wire to 12v+ constant the unit just uses a timer for the stater wire. It may not be the greatest solution since I am not sure what would happen if the car did not start the first time like if it was really cold, but it will work. Another thought I had was that by connecting that wire to the 12v+ constant wire at the main ignition harness, the unit uses the wire as a voltage sensing circuit. If that is true then the wire would monitor the voltage on the power wires and look for a jump in voltage once the alternator kicked on. That would be better than just a timer, but still not as reliable as a tach source.
