Hey Guys,

I'm new to the car alarm install and I'm looking for some tips to go about adding wires to my ignition harness and not mess anything up.

what is the best way to splice wires into the harness? Just locate the wire under the steering wheel, cut, connect two existing ends with new wire and wrap with electrical tape? Is there anything I need to be worried about when cutting and splicing these wires? I'm very new at this and dont want to wreck my whole electical system.

Also, is there any special way to free up these wires, they are very short and hard to work with.

The best way is to cut just a bit of insulation off the wire maybe a 1/2 inch or so just enough so you can wrap the wire you are splicing around and then solder the wire and finish with a good electrical tape no less than 3m super 33 is great . This is the cleanest and most reliable way to do it . This conection if made well will ensure high curent capability and long lasting results actually forever if done correct.
