hi all,ive just installed a mannix sm700 to my 1993 nissan 200sx (240 in u.s.) but i cant get the remote start to work
its my first alarm install so im not completly clued up on this but have checked and double checked the wiring and cannot work out why it dont work
anyone else had this problem???
Can you tell me whats the problem exactly?
-------------
If something is not working as planed, Check your ground
ok,ive got a start kill relay on the start wire but it is a closed circuit, here the layout
relay pin 85- orange (-) start kill output from alarm
relay pin 86- BLACK/ white(on position) on ignition(+)
relay pin 87a- yellow start wire from ignition
relay pin 30- yellow to starter motor and yellow to alarm(start feed)(the wire from ignition has been cut between this connection and relay pin 87a connection)
then the power wires into the alarm are-
my ignition alarm harness
WHITE/ red(constant12v) red(+12v)
BLACK / YELLOW(starter) pin 87a of start kill relay
BLACK/ white(on position) blue(?)
blue(acc) green(?)
black to car body
i hope this explains it ok,the rest of the system seems to work ok,its just the remote starting that dont work, when i try it ,the remote beeps 4 times and my lights flash(not sure if this is normal or a fault code)
i checked the yellow starter output from the alarm and there wasn't 12v when trying the remote start
has anyone got the wiring codes for a '93 nissan 200sx (or 240sx in the states)??
ive just had another look,if i use the turbo timer and let that shut the engine off, then i can use the remote start but thats the only way it'll work
any ideas guys???

Sounds like a reservation mode violation problem. Is the car standard?

Does the manual say what 4 flashes mean?
Also, when you say you have an immobilizer, is that an aftermarket system? Or dis the UK get immobilizers on their vehicles way before the US? I have looked at 5 databases and none of them show a factory immobilizer.
Here is what I show for your car: Have you tested all the wires you have made connections to?
12V white
STARTER BLACK/ white
SECOND STARTER BLACK / YELLOW
IGNITION BLACK/ red
ACCESSORY blue
its an aftermarket immobiliser(autowatch)
i think the alarm wiring is ok,i have found a few people with this alarm that have got the same problem with the remote start(only works after turbo timer shuts down the engine)
cheers for the replies so far guys
has anyone else got a mannix alarm??
no one else got a mannix??
i thought these were getting popular????
Hi , iv'e fitted 4 of these alarms so far , great value for money. Anyway is your nissan auto or man , if man are you going through the remote start memory before leaving the car or have you got it set to auto memory. if you have it connected correctly, when you pull up , turn off and remove the key ,the engine should stay running, until you leave and arm the car.
Hope this helps, if not i will try my best to figure it out for you.
cheers.
