This alarm is going in a project car, so I want to get a decent level of protection. It's also a convertable, so I'd like to have it go off before there's a hole in the roof.
My gut instinct is to go with a Clifford Avantguard 5. I've noticed that Clifford and Viper are now the same, so if there is a cheaper and comparable Viper I'd consider that as well.
2-way paging also seems to be the rage. Is that something that can be added on? If so what extra equipment do I need?
Also, if there's anything else I'm missing or forgetting let me know!

I like the new code alarms. They make a all in one remote start /alarm/pager. You'll need a motion field detector. Go to carmedia.com. Good prices and a good warrenty
