I was recently replacing the alternator on my 1998 4-door tahoe and had the battery disconnected for about 24 hours.  After I installed my rebuilt alternator and reconnected my recharged battery, the stock keyless entry system will not work whatsoever from any distance.  It worked fine before i replaced alternator.  Is there something I can reset to make it work again? Thanks for any suggestions.

you may have to get the remote reprogrammed to your vehicle.  if you have the battery disconnected for that long, i think it loses its programming.   take it to a GM dealer

Actually I just found a thing in my manual about it-- I should have checked there first.  I resynchronized it by pressing the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds, and that worked.  Thanks for help though!
