Allright, been having trouble setting up the keyless entry system on my sierra. I have a module that sends .5 volts through the lock and unlock leads. I have been told that the lock wire is light blue and in the drivers kick panel. That wire didnt seem to work so I probed the light blue wire inbetween the door and the car body (in the rubber protector) and see .5 volts when holding the stock power door lock switch one way, and 11.5 the other.

When I put either .5 or 11.5 to the switch wire nothing happens. I assume that I might be on the wrong side (not the relay/motor side) of the circuit. Is there a wire that I can verify this, or is there a place that I am supposed to splice into. Also, if anyone knows, is this a .5 or 11.5 system. Thanks for your time.

Should be just a small light blue, and a small white, both coming in from each front door...... positive trigger (not negative like most cars).

where exactly are these wires located? The only light blue wire that I can find on the inside of the vehicle kick panel doesnt show any voltage when using the power locks, and shows around 6v with the key on so I cant see that being it. Am I looking in the wrong place. Ill be sure to check the passenger side.

NOTES:
NOTE:  This sheet also refers to the 1999 Classic Full Size Pickup.
NOTE:  This vehicle has the passlock II immobilizer system that, when
adding a remote start, must be interfaced with. Use DEI part 555t or 555L.
*1 The pink/white does not exist on all models.
*2 5 wire (type C) on the two door models, and positive trigger (type A)
on the four door and keyless entry models.
*3 Tach wire on the 6.5 Diesel is white at the instrument cluster. Diesel
wait to start wire is dk. blue (-) located at the instrument cluster.
*4 ECM located on drivers side inner fender well. Two plugs, white wire in
plug marked "white".
*5 Make sure to enable second ignition wires for remote starts to prevent
possible transmission damage and the check engine light from coming on.

And yes this is from DEI...

as lalur said...you have to use a setup for 5 wire. incase you're unsuree about that...

I've only done one or two Suburbans/Tahoes like this...and those use positive trigger locks.......I've never done a pickup/Blazer at all........so I probably can't tell you EXACTLY where to to get the wires.

But look again in the kick panel.  At first glance, you'll see a bundle of wires that's easy to grab.  But most likely, this bundle just goes down the running board toward the rear of the car----it contains wiring for the backup lights, rear speakers, et cetera.  (It's also likely that you could find your brake and parking light wires here, if you need to.)

Once you've removed the car's kick panel, there should be some black rubber insulation behind the parking brake.  Pull it away, and feel for the wires that are coming in from the driver's door---that's what you want.  Maybe/hopefully you can pull down enough slack to work.
