Got the alarm/remote started installed fine, but the door triggers keeps setting the alarm off. I diode isolated both of the tan and tan/red wires, but it still triggers. I found another post where someone else had this same problem. What i'm wondering is if someone actually figured out what the problem is and how to fix it? The customer is coming back in on monday or tuesday of next week so i can fix it.

All you have to do is use a relay to send a clean ground through to the alarm. Pin 85 door trigger from car, pin 86 +12V, 30 ground, 87 - output to alarm. Do this and it will take care of your problem. Also the easiest way to tell if this is going to happen is to close the doors, arm the alarm wait for about 10 minutes. Test it this way before you wire the relay and it should go off in that amount of time and test it after wiring the relays and it won't do it anymore.

ok, cool thanks. i left the door trigger unhooked for now because i've never had an alarm do this before.

I ran into this problem on a 2002 Dakota just diode isolate the triggers and then isolate them from the bcm. It goes off because the bcm grounds the tan wires after it shuts off. So I don't think the relay will work on it since the bcm will be sending out a ground that will trigger the relay and set off the alarm. And you will be back to square one. Plus the diodes are cheaper.

so how would i diode isolate the triggers? Cut the triggers in 2 and add diodes into it and then add another set of 2 diodes to the other side of the 1st set of the diodes on the opposite side of the bcm?

ps disregard the + signs on the schematic. I din't notice until I finished. And also you don't have to use those diodes I used that part number because it was the first one on the list.

I have literally done hundreds of these and using a relay is a solution.

I install alarms in those trucks everyday, you need to run wires to each door pin, both left doors can be found in the white connector in the drivers kick, tan and tan/orange or PURPLE / orange. Right side doors are tan/red and tan/black, you need to diode isolate these wires from each other, I just run four wires, insert a diode on each one, band facing the doors, and join the other end of the diodes together to your door trigger wire on the alarm.
