I am going to install the 3.5 into my 2001 Corolla LE in a few days or maybe even a week or so.

 Any tips or suggestions on any part of the install?? Any pointers, or stuff to make sure i do for best results would be great.

Also is it better to get constant 12v straight from battery or igntion bundle?
Any ideas of placement of the brain for best security , running wires, or the alarm siren?
Should i use taps for wire connections?

Any answers to these questions or any other general pointers/tips would be awesome!

thank you

Bryan

taps = stupid

people may argue that they have good uses, but they will fail.  and they cut into the wire increasing the chances of failing.  just take the extra 10sec per wire to solder and tape.

taps=convenience=non-frustration (if you use it properly to its specs)

you will need it someway, somehow like in the tight spot where its impossible for ur biggo hand to reach to.

there is still going to be an alternative location or one more body panel that can come off.

What would be the most optimal location for the brain module and/or siren? The install manual lists a few, but I would think by them listing those specific locations any thief would know the spots by now.

thanks
