Hi I have a 1998 VW Golf GTI. I installed the Avital 2200 security with keyless entry.Im having problems when I go to use the unlock button on the remote it sets off the factory alarm/horn? only way I can stop the factory alarms is to use the key in the door and unlock it? Can anyone help me with this and maybe supply a wiring diagram for this vehicle so I can double check my wiring? Thank you in advance......posted_image

just need to clarify something.....does the door actually unlock then when you use the unlock button on the remote? have you programmed the avital for double pulse unlocking? did you connect the domelight supervision wire from the alarm to the door trigger of the car? if so, does your situation change if you disconnect it? also, you may need to reset your factory alarm. try turning your ignition on, and turning the in the other door a few times.

as for a wiring diagram, this website has a vehicle database that should provide you with the info you need.
