I recently installed my car alarm in my car. Everything is working great! EXCEPT the antenna doesn't get reception other than if the transmitter is a foot or less away from the antenna.  I replaced the batteries to see if it was that... and it didn't improve my situation.  I have the Phoenix Digital Pd-144 and its installed in a 94 Honda Accord.  Is there anyway to make the antenna bigger or advice on where to place the antenna so I get better reception?

Tape the antenna so to something so that it is in a straight line and not coiled up. If this does not work then maybe the antenna wire is damaged or disconnected.

The antenna is more or less in a straight line... does it need to be vertical or horizontal? And which will get better reception?  If it is a little bent is this going to affect the reception that much?

Sounds like a bad connection, bad antenna, or a bad transmitter. There is no way that it should have to be that close, do you have another transmitter to check it with?

Yes I tried it with the other transmitter that was sent in the box! and the results are similar? So maybe it is a bad antenna? I called the company and they are sending me  a new one... lets hope that works... I will keep yall posted I appreciate the help? By chance tho if this doesn't work? What else could be wrong with it? Or is there a way to extend the antenna and make it bigger?

Making an antenna longer will not help and can actually hurt. Antenna lengths and shapes are designed around the frequencies you want them to pick up.

Check your wiring again and make sure you are putting it somewhere that it won't pick up a lot of electrical noise. The shorter the better as well.

Is there a place that would be best... I looked all around there and it doesn't look like it should be receiving that much interference. BUt then again there is hardly ANY ROOM AT ALL up there under the dash!
