Hello, I have a 98 Honda Accord with a Viper Alarm. I'm selling the car and would like to take the alarm out myself. The last time I sold my car and had this alarm removed, it looked like all the guy did was cut all the wires and throw it back in the box. It took less than 5 mins and I paid $50 for this service!

Is this something a novice can tackle? Do any (all) wires that are cut while removing the alarm brain need to be reconnected? Is the brain in line and all is needed is butt-connect the remaining color-coded wires?

I can get the specific model if you need that to answer the question. I know it is a model that included remote entry and starter-kill.

Thank you.

You will basically just pull the wires out of the connectors if using t-taps or scotchlocks or cut the alarm's wiring where the connection is made and tape it up. The only thing you will need to reconnect will be the starter wire.
