I have been having problems finding the passenger door trigger on an ext. cab dakota. I found the driver side trigger which was BLACK/ purple. I tried using the yellow wire that controls interior illumination, but it is delayed when doors close so it wouldn't work. Any suggestions?

You can catch them in each door. The triggers are built in to each door lock motor/latch mechanism.
Should be - Driver Door - BLACK/ Lt Blue, Pass Door - Tan/Red
Remember to diode isolate and test before wiring them up. This is the way I have my '00 Dakota wired, the '99 should be the same.
