hey,

first time installing remote start and unsuccessful so far.

the unit is called LEA-826.

I am after desperate help as I have connected all the wires correctly, double checked and there is power going to the starter wire in the alarm when I try to start it by the remote, but the car doesn't crank over, the accessories come on, then the engine lights on the dash, but it doesn't start.

Any help would be much appreciated

nissans have a tendency to have more than 1 starter wire (although the tech info on this car indicates only one). the best measure to see if you have all the necessary wires to start your car is to see if you can hot wire start your car with those wires that you've chosen. if you can't, then you need to find more. if you can, then the problem should be on the unit side. maybe some programming items that need to be done, or hood pin receiving ground, or brake wire sensing the brake is on, or some sort of switch that needs to be on/off to allow the remote start function to be active.

good luck!

cheers, the remote start does need the hood pin receiving ground, the brake wire sensing ground etc, but technically my car fals under the 90-91 model as it's the new shape and funnily enough, there is a second ignition wire that we did miss that's not hooked up. ... basically we hooked up to the ignition 2 wire (cold start).

I am assuming that by connecting that other ignition wire correctly that the unit will remote start now?

thanks
