I had a viper 690xv alarm installed on my car by an alarm shop and either 1 minute or 10 minutes after you set the alarm, it will go off for no reason and says that the door trigger was activated or a door was opened. It doesn't happen every single time. The longest time i had the alarm set is about 20 minutes. I sat outside and stared at my car to make sure nothing touched it and the alarm still went off. My car already had a factory keyless. Is there anything i can do to fix it or do i have to take it back.

My wife has a 2004 impala and had a remote start added and the door locks go to sleep after a few minutes if the door lock button is hit. I am not sure but it sounds similar and I would take it back and let the dealer deal with it. Those cars are complicated and would not recommend anyboday but a dealer messing with it.

when i got my alarm installed, they told me they had to disable a feature the car had that checks the locks every 30min or so, locking the doors if you left them unlocked. this would set off the alarm.. i have a 2001 ford mustang if that means anything

If it is falling alseep you are more than likely have to go to each door and grab the trigger wire, and diode isolate them.
