Subject: One wire lock/unlock question

I want to use the lock signal to roll up mi windows (using a roll up module, of course). The lock is accomplished with a positive pulse through a 620 ohm resistor (Dodge Stratus). If I put a diode in this circuit to isolate the signals, will it still unlock the doors, or need I to use a relay ? I know the relay will do it, but putting a diode will save me some wiring.

Neither the relay or the diode will work, you can't isolate the signals on a one wire lock system. What you can do is tag the driver's door lock motor wire.

I think I wasn't clear enough. I already have a diferent contact for the lock and unlock from my alarm system. What I want is to use the lock contact for the roll up module triggering, but I only want it to be triggered with the alarm remote and not when I lock/unlock with the OEM remote or the door switch. So I dont want the signal from the one wire to feedback through the alarm wiring activating the windows roll up module. Will this work? Diagram posted_image

Or, since you have an aftermarket alarm, hook it up the correct way (to the ground when armed). Why are you using both the alarm remote and oem remote? Doing this has to cause problems. Simply put, yes if you diode isolate the -lock trigger off of the alarm to the car then that can be used to trigger the window to roll up, all be it only an inch or so at a time but hey if this is how you want it...

Why are you saying an inch at a time? I've already installed the module and when I trigger it (manually, just grounding the input wire) it only rolls up each window about an inch. Maybe you can give me a clue about why this happens.

Thanks

Have you tried holding the wire to ground, not just touching it?

Yes, it makes the same thing. I think that just the module is sensing too much current and shutting itself down. But it doesn't have any adjustment. I'm going to buy a new module with sensitivity adjustment. By the way, I'm just a guy who likes to work in his car. I'm not a specialist..
