1.does your RS attempt to start?
2.if yes(1), check the wire David stated above and check for tach.
3.if no(1), check for shut down pins. check the BLACK/ white wire on harness w/ the tach/hood wires are at and ground that wire so ur RS can start.
note***Vehicles with the switchblade key have an immobilizer system that needs to be bypassed when adding remote start. Use DEI part number 555U. Vehicles with the Smart Key, a bypass is not available at this time.

all ignition wires are hooked up. yes when i put the key in the ignition and remote start, it works.....yes it attempts to start, tach is hooked up...the problem seems to be the signal not getting to transponder properly with the 555u unit...

got it...what happen was the antenna ring from the 555u is bigger in diameter of the ingition ring. i had to wrap it arroung tightly then twist the excess and tuck it with the rest of the wire close to the transponder's antenna.
thanks people.

This is on another note: do you have any trouble with the info. center in the instrument cluster saying "lamp defective". I installed a Clifford r.s. in my dad's benz and I'm having a problem where it comes on when the car is r.s. The error doesn't come up when started with the key. His doesn't have the immobilizer like yours either.

good question...i noticed that "lamp defective" has been coming on with the remote start. the bulb that i noticed that was blown was in the dash cluster...the message does not come one when i start the car with the key and put the lights on like it supposed to... very strange..any ways when i get some time i will change the bulb and check whether it blows again....

that problem may be from not powering up all of the ign. wires......
double check to see that all of the wires are powered up.... ------------- Good Luck

that problem may be from not powering up all of the ign. wires......
double check to see that all of the wires are powered up....
here is a test you can do...
remote start the car and see if the lights goes out when you put the key in the ign. and step on the brake to turn off the remote start.....
then start it several times in a row with the key and see it the lights stays out each time...
if so, i would guess that a wire(s) were missed... ------------- Good Luck
