Can anyone help me out. Just installed a remote start in a ext. chevy 02 truck. And i cant get the car to run, it turns over with the remote start but no run, I use the 2000 wire chart, and hoping thats teh problem. Also i take it the key isnt coded becouse i can start and run the truck with a key from ace hardware. And the check engine light is on now with driveing. Please let me know if anyone can help... If you can please email at xmovingx@msn.com

What type of alarm is it?  Sounds as if you need to program your alarm to learn the tach.  This step is required on many remote starts alarms.

Do it right the first time

MSI remote start 2 way.. I have put a couple in boats, and had no problems. Just this truck.. Looking for the right schmatic. I use the 2000 and not sure if all the wires are the same.. I could find the tech wire on the truck.. Cyc. 1 V8 white wire.. Not there..

Your truck has Passlock II. Its an antitheft system that has a resistance that the trucks computer sees when the key cylinder is turned. Key cylinder isn't turned, or bypass module not installed....truck doesn't start.

It has nothing to do with a "chip" in the key.

Correct  your truck does have a passlock II.....simply install a 555L from DEI.  If installed correctly it should read the resistance code (No key required).  The 555L comes with the coloring code for the two wires you're going to need (more than likely it's yellow & orange black).

I have a 2003 GMC yukon. You will need a DEI 555L I paid $25.00 for it New off Ebay. You will also need a DEI 456G This will control your door lock . it go on the BCM module keep doors lock when you remote start the truck. I paid $15.00 for that it was price wrong @ Cricut city I didn't say a thing when he ring it up.  Now I need help with the smart window module. That aother post.

o one more thing you will use the wire for the 555l up where the key go. The black thin wire in the yellow wire. ( don't cut the black ) cut the yellow.

good luck

you DO NOT need a 456G... this data module is only used on the 03 and up fullsize trucks... not 02 and earlier
