Normally, it is phrased as alarm bypass. Meaning, if your remote control should stop working, or if you lose it.

You can use the toggle, switch, mag key, or what ever device to over-ride the alarm system so as you may start the vehicle.

This is assuming we are speaking about the same thing.

It is probably referring to the passenger's door unlock motor wire that would be used when installing a factory keyless upgrade type alarm. What this wire would tell the alarm is if someone is trying to use the switch on the door as opposed to the keyless remote.

That is def another option as well. For RS units, there is also a output from the RS unit which is used to turn off the OEM alarm system during the RS process.
