i have a 1998 ford explorer. the unlock button on the driver's side does not work. i have taken the door apart and replaced the switch with the passengers side door lock/unlock switch. it does the same thing, i can lock the door from there but can't unlock it. the passenger side, the keyless remote and the combo keypad on the door will lock and unlock all the doors. the problem seems to be based in the drivers side door as it is the only place i can not unlock the doors from. any ideas?

the only thing i can think of, is to start tracing the wire from the switch.....you should be able to find the bad spot. do you have factory keyless on this truck???

yes i have a factor keyless entry. that works fine, it only happens when i try to use the unlock button on the driver's side door. i can lock it there but not unlock it.  it started out as intermitent problem, then it just when all together.  i was thinking possibly a relay or actuator problem. was hoping someone may have had the same problem before haing to take it to a garage.
