I just have one more question about the 508d prox sensor and connecting it to a 3.5 cliff matrix. On the 4 pole shock sensor plug that exits alarm, the orange or green and the blue wires are both multiplex, right? So could you use either wire for either the shock or the prox sensor? If they are the same, it should not matter which sensor is connected to which wire, right? ------------- BOOM, BOOM, BOOM BOOM....

One wire reports to zone 2 while the other reports to zone 4

i have a viper 350hv with a dual zone shock sensor and the 508 prox. sensor. i also have the multiplex inputs and no it doesn't make a difference,the sensors are the ones that control which type of trigger to cause either a warn away or a full trigger. thats why most other brands of sensors are not compatiple with the dei alarms.

When you connected both green and blue from 508d to 1 multiplex input on alarm, did you use 1 amp diodes to isolate the 2 508d outputs from eachother? Or does it not matter due to the way the dei's work with warn and full trigger being different length signals on the same multiplex input? Like the way the manual says to? I just want to be sure because this simple task was complicated by me buying the stupid floor model on the demo system without even seeing it work. Everyone in town was backordered. But now I am going to pick up the new one that they sent on warranty. Just have to plug it in and set it.

always use dides to isolate multiple sensors. if its one sensor then no, you dont need diodes.

In your particular case you dont have to use diodes, because the 508 D will have its own input on one of the multiplexed input wire (blue), and the shock sensor will have its own input on the multiplexed input (orange wire). Meaning that these 2 sensor will not see each other at no time, and so you don't need to use diodes. Only time you use diode is when you attach 2 or more sensor on one input trigger. But in your case you have separate trigger.

So if I would like to add more shock/knock sensors elsewhere, I would just tap in to the shock sensors multiplex with diodes? I think I may do the same with one of these cliff 111 single zone proximety sensors that the shop gave me for free. Like put it in the trunk and adjust a small zone there too.

It wil be of no use to add a single zone prox in the trunk, because once they open the trunk it wil trigger the alarm.

I meant if I went somewhere and left my trunk open while listening to the system, I would have a perimeter. Just for fun.
