Subject: remote start, won’t stop, relay reset?

i remote started my car the other day, put the key in the ignition and turned it to the (II) position like usual...BUT i accidentally hit the lock/arm button(which usually doesn't do anything) and now the car won't turn off...i had to unplug the remote start harness from the alarm to get it to cut off, and every time i plug it back in my car starts immediately...i tried everything(i think) but i'm open to any ideas...i think one of the relays is possibly switched in the wrong position...is there any way to reset the remote start relays??? anyone else have the same problem??? can anyone help???

i had a similar problem with the rsx 3.5 when i was setting it up i accidently hit the remotestart but instead of starting the vehicle it kept the starter cranking after car was already on i couldnt stop until i pulled the fuse for it. everytime i put the fuse back it kept the starter going so what i did is, with the fuse not in for remotestart i hit the remote start in my remote and put the fuse back in quick it started the vehicle and the started finally disengange itself. its like the relay got stuck or something wierd problem never happened to me before works perfect now though.

well i have the clifford rsx 3.5 i pulled the fuse from my alarm for the satellite relay it has. my alarm has 2  20amp or purple in color fuses that go into the satallite relay  i just pulled each one till the starter stop cranking, i then put all the fuses back except for the one that allows the starter to crank. i really dont know which alarm you have but thats how mine worked.

Relays get disengaged as soon as power to them is cut off. If you are still having trouble, try disconnecting the battery. That will switch everything off in your car (unless you have a secondary power battery). Then reconnect the battery after a minute or two. The remote start should not start the car unless you hit the start button on your remote control.
