I have a viper remote starter. Since yesterday evening the car has been starting on its own approximately every hour and I don't know how long it runs for because I turn it off everytime I see it running. Did I possibly set it for an automatic start? If so, how do I turn it off??? Please someone help...it is enough to drive me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you say cycle the ignition, does that mean to start the car? Sorry, I not well versed in car talk! Thanks for your help!

assume its viper 560xv, 790xv, or 791xv

if youre to remote start and you then shut off w/ the remote, then itll go into a timer mode.

timer mode-(youre suppose to read ur manual like the installer stated, but you didnt.....lol) self ignition after a period of time (3hr @default).

so next time if you remote start and want to shut it off, go press the brake or something.

BTW you cant turn off the timer mode, i dont think...

You should be able to disable timer mode (setting the timer to zero/infinity). But read your manual as profuse007 said, to be 100 percent sure. If it is not the timer mode, could it be possible someone in your family has the "other" remote and are playing a prank on you? Just a thought worth clarifying.
