The car uses Passkey III (Transponder). There are many modules available to integrate with it. Some will also control the power locks and factory alarm. You could also run wires into the door for lock, unlock, disarm and arm. To arm the alarm you must pulse the doorpin just slightly before the lock wire. The lock/unlock wires are at the switch in the door and the disarm (light green) and the doorpin (tan) are in a plug at the driver's door module behind the door trim panel. I would recommend an all in one module for ease of install.

thanks for the info. I data bussed this car on thursday with a crimestopper gmu-7 and got the doorlocks. then i used a key in a box for the ignition. The car locked up 200 miles from home. do you think maybe the car saw two keys at the same time? i know on fords(navigator, focus) if the key is in the ignition and you remote start it it sees 2 keys and lock out, just for that one try.
thanks
