I want to install a push button starting mechanism on my 1978 Cutlass. Is it possible to do this in a way that i won't have to use a key at all to start it.  I plan to have security system and have a second hidden switch if it is possible.

you can do it you will need to connect a wire to the starter solenoid and to one side of the starter button, then a 12volt source to the other side of the switch so when you press the button it cranks the car, you will still have to have your key in the on position to unlock the steering wheel and send power to your ignition coil and other accessories.
