Is anyone on here real familiar with Scytek, specifically the galaxy line? I am real interested in the RS2W plus model https://scytek.net/Products/page/5000RS.htm but I have a few questions...
Does the system come with the data cable to hook up to a laptop in order to do the setup easier?
What is the best way to add aditional sensors to the system i.e. glass break, motion, etc? I see in the install manual there is a mention of a "optional sensor input", but I don't see it in the schematic? any help here?
I see they have a channel expander listed also, what all will this add on be capable of, i.e. what inputs/outputs does it have?
If I get the channel expander will I still be able to use a window roll up module? will it plug in to the channel expander and then to the brain?
also does anyone know of any good dealers in the Dallas Tx area? I'd really like to get a close up of the system before I buy it. :^:
TIA :)
Hi
you have to buy the cable/interface to the computer
it comes with the software as well
a 4 pin port is on the brain for shock/motion/whatever
not sure on the expander yet
they have a window up or down module
Ill post when i install it soon
thanks
Joey
You splice in any other two stage sensors to the shock sensor inputs if that is the only input the alarm has. I have a Galaxy 3000 I'm installing. If you can't find a local dealer you can order from Boost Audio online. Fit and finish is really good, no complaints there. Everything is that hard black plastic. Packaging is non-existant. Remotes are secured via the alarm module antenna with no plastic around them. No stickers either. Greg at Scytek has answered a couple of questions via email. I'm pleased with it so far.
You don't get good help from Scytek.
Find a new system.
Not sure why this guy thinks that but here is an email that Greg just sent me, seems like pretty good support to me. So far Scytek has been very helpful. I'm new at installs and they have given me very good support.
Hi,
The red is constant +12 Volt, don't need to use it for the negative
door
lock system, when you arm the alarm the green wire will give you
negative
while the blue wire gives positive, when the alarm is disarmed then the
blue
wire will give
Negative ( ground ) while the green wire gives positive signal. So on
your
car use the green to lock and the blue to unlock.

Found this forum because I want to buy the 5000RS2W Plus for my Cadillac Eldorado 1978. The answer I am looking for is, do I need additional relays or wire sockets? I want to order it in the US and I live in the Netherlands. So I don't want to miss parts I need, because this will be an expensive mistake.
