Here's my delimma....I just bought a used '97 ford f350 powerstroke with factory keyless entry.  Whoever owned the truck before me installed a ford factory system 3 or 4(I'm not certain) upgrade alarm system on it.  However, There is also a 2nd alarm installed in addition to the ford one.  the 2nd alarm is a keyless entry upgrade also, clifford XL 100.  The clifford alarm works fine.  however the ford alarm is not.  Whenever I unlock the doors(whether it be with the keyless entry remote, or by just using the key) the alarm is triggered.  and because of this I must use the the starter bypass(???) button to get the truck to start.  Now, My question is if there is anyway I can get the ford alarm working properly without having to gut the entire thing and start from scratch with a new alarm?  I apologize for the length of this post.  Any counsel or advice is greatly appreciated and as being a new member I look forward to learning and enjoying the benefits of this website and forum.  thanks!

The Ford has a FACTRY ALARM DISARM wire which is a dk.GREEN/ purple wire ( Driver kick panel ) that needs to see GROUND in order for the OEM system to be disarmed. If you do not wish to have the OEM system operational at all, you can take a wire and ground it and attach the other end to the dk.GREEN/ purple and this will defeat the OEM alarm indefinitely or until you take that wire off.

Thank you for the reply- I would like to keep the ford factory alarm system operational if at all possible.  the reason for this is because the clifford alarm, clifford XL100, is missing the LED status indicator and the siren also.  ( the previous owner of the truck cut the wires for the LED and the siren but left all the sensors, the alarm module and etc.  I am planning on buying a LED and siren but I'm somewhat short on cash at the moment since I'm making a huge truck payment every month.  )  But I am certain that it is the ford factory alarm that is the problem source and not the clifford.  Is there possibly anyway I might be able to get the installation manual for the ford factory alarm or the keyless entry wiring diagram or anything which might be able to help with fixing this problem?  Much thanks!!

Thank you very very much for the amount of information given thus far!  It's been great!  I removed my lower dash panel and starting looking around trying to find where things were located and such and I did become somewhat familiar with how the two alarms were wired in order to function correctly.  I have managed to get the wiring diagram for the keyless entry and also the specific wiring set up of my truck model(thanks Philo) and also I have the wiring diagrams for the clifford XL 100 as well.  But I'm afraid that I am in need of the ford factory system 4 upgrade alarm wiring diagrams.  I have searched the world wide web over, and have not even found a website even close to telling me how to even go about obtaining one.  I've pretty much pinpointed the problem down to three possible wires I think.  The GREEN/ Black wire for unlock/lock- the blue/black wire for unlock/lock- and the yellow door trigger wire?  The GREEN/ black wire was plugged into the pink / YELLOW wire off of the keyless entry module.  The blue/black wire was plugged into the pink/green wire off the keyless entry module.  And the yellow wire was plugged into a BLACK/ blue wire off the keyless entry module.  Is this correct??  Or is there something that isn't wired correctly??  Thanks again for all the help!

Hey Y'all!  I wanted to update y'all on my current situation.  I managed to fix the ford alarm and I also was able to get the clifford xl 100 back working all except for the siren.  Yes I caved and went and bought an LED and a siren.  However the siren is not working for some reason and I'm not quite sure.  I wired it to the yellow(-) output on the clifford module and everything but I'm still not getting any kind of chirp?  Could anyone possibly maybe shed some light on my blunder or mistake?  thanks for the help!  Blake

The YELLOW wire is a (-) trigger that has to be attached to the BLACK wire of the wiren. The RED wire from the siren will have to be attached to 12 volts constant in order for the siren to be operational when there is no ignition power. Did you install the RED wire to a constant or ignition wire ?

Alright!  Thanks everybody for all the help!!  I would never have been able to accomplish this without y'all info!  My siren was not working because the WHITE/ brown wire on the clifford that is supposed to go to the ignition (+) 12v was not connected securely and had come off and so that was why I wasn't getting any kind of response from the siren and also why the alarm would not go out of the valet mode.  So anyway, siren works!  Both alarms work!  everything works great!!  THANKS A MILLION!!!
