I am looking for a simple solution for my 86' vette to add keyless entry and still use my VATS system.  Any hints?

Thanks, C4Me

The VATS system just stops the car from being started until the correct resistance is seen from the key, it has nothing to do with your door locks. if you are just wanting keyless entry by a keyless entry system and add door lock actuators if it doesnt have power locks. When you install remote start and have to do the "VATS bypass" it doesnt totally remove the feature of the VATS system just allows the car to be remote started by sensing the resistance value of the resistor you had to install. You still need the key with the chip in it for the car to start/run

Kevin,

Yes the car has power door locks.  I am interested in something as described in Javein3o4's post.  At one time, one of the aftermarker sellers of vette parts was hauking a system that was "plug and play" but they have dicontinued.  I e-mailed the company but have had no response.

Thanks
