Hi everyone

I have a 1993 Ford Ranger that was recently broken into, so I have been inspired to install an alarm. I have some wiring knowledge, but I have never removed the dash before, and I want to be able to do it without damaging anything. Can someone please post step-by-step instructions on removing the dash in a 1993 Ford Ranger? Also, if you know another site that may have that info, please let me know. Thanks!

I found that there was an old black widow alarm already installed in the truck (along with aftermarket power locks) by the previous owner. After tracing the wires as much as possible, I have found that some of them (LED in particular) run under the dash in places where I cannot reach them. I'm also having problems identifying which wires are the door triggers and which are the door locks, so any tips on that would be useful as well.

if memory serves me correctly in that vehicle you remove the dash screw from the top of the dash bezel...then the small trim panels that cover the bottom of the dash around the cig lighter snap off, and you unscrew the bottom dash screw there..... it's been a while since i've had to work on a unit that old....

Why not just pull the stereo, and intrument cluster trim and other trim. You probably will be able to see most of the wires.
