The kill switch is what i believe the problem is....   I locked my keys in the stratus... put a wire through the side door and unlocked the car with the power locks.  Hopped in the care and turned the alarm off with my key.   Then i went to start the  car... nothing happened.  Lights went on, windows worked, just not a sound when trying to start the vehicle.  This leads me too my question... it's a stock alarm on a 2000 stratus ES,  How do i disarm the kill switch... if it even is the kill switch at all?

These methods i've already tried:

locking and unlocking the doors;  removing the battery for 20 minutes;  checked under the steering wheel for a button or switch... nothing there;  checked under the hood to the best of my abilites for a switch, nothing;  left key in ignition for 20 minutes, didn't start;  checked the trunk for the hell of it, no switches or buttons.

Would appreciate the help.  Thank you.

John

it doesn't sound like a security issue.  You can usually turn your key in the door lock mechanism to disarm the factory security. It sounds like it is already disarmed.

When the alarm went off, was it a siren or the horn honk ?

maybe it was a coincidence. try replacing the starter relay under the hood.

Moderator,

When i got in the car by breaking in, the horn did honk.  I got in, put the key in and tried to start it.... the alarm went off but the car did not start.

I'm fairly new to cars, so where would the starter relay be located by, or how would i know if the relay is broken in any way?
