Hi, i'm currenty about to install a trunk release kit, 2 mercury switches for hood and trunk, another duel stage shock sensor and a audio/glass sensor all DEI accessorie models. They are going in an clifford matrix 2.5 alarm system. Anything i need to know as far as diodes are concerned/relays or anything in particular? I'm kinda new into the diode scene and i read the basics of the diodes, but i dont understand where to put them and how to keep them inbetween the wiring,im assuming soddering, correct? Thanks for the help!

Which way to put the diodes can be determinded by the signal inputs of the alarms...if u have negative inputs....then u would want to place the diode with the anode toward the switch/device. That way when one is activated....the trigger signal doesn't go all of the switches/sensors. ANd vice versa for posotive triggers. Solder/tape/heatshrink over it all is the best method.

here's an easy way to remember it.....band side always goes towards the ground. it holds true in every situation for diode isolating.

oh, btw, i usually try to refrain from using mercury switches because if you park on a steep hill, there's a high chance of the mercury switch to be making contact already. good luck!
