I have an Clifford G4 Intelliguard 8000 which has the option for an omnisensor. Thing is clifford does not have the onmisensor for G4 alarms anymore. They only have the G5 model. Now I was wondering if these are the exact same sensors. On my G4 IG8000 it required you to tap wires to install the sensor. On the G5 theres a plug that you just hook up to the brain. I was taking a look at the instructions and for my intelliguard and the omnisensor use a RED / black WHITE/ blue and a black. I was also looking at the instructions for the G5 intelliguard 750 which has the plug for the omnisesnor. Now on those instructions it it says the shock sensor uses 2 plug wires which are tied together, a orange, and a red wire. Now could I just take the G5 sensor chop the plug off and connect the wires to my alarm? My IG8000 has a 3 pin molex for an omni sensor. the wire colors going to it are black, red and WHITE/ blue
the omnisensor is remote adjustable and will only work off of that connector.

If it only works off that connector why do the instructions say to wire it to three wires on the harness. Do you know if the new G5 omnisensor is the same as the G4 one?

You can wire any shock sensor to the Orange (optional sensor input).

true, but the omni sensor is digital, it uses one wire for warn/trigger and sensitivity settings.
looking at the omni sensor it's the same one they've used for about 6 years now. ------------- Shaughn Murley

Right... I didn't clarify what I answered to. He asked if he could use another brand, and the answer is yes as long as it's negative out trigger. In this case he doesn't get the dual zone and doesn't get remote adjustability.

I believe I have a couple of brand new g4 omnisensors if your interested, by the way I believe the difference is operating voltage, I know g4 omnis only had 5volts feeding them, the new ones are 12volts. Let me know if you interested.
