I have a puzzling problem??

I have a vehicle that I am adding additional remote controlled dead bolts to. The vehicle is a VW T4 ( it's a UK van).
On  most vehicles the original door locking motor wires are used to power the bolts in normal cases if the OE handset is used to control the bolts. On this particular vehicle, the OE motor wires rest at positive/negative rather than negative/negative. In other words, when you operate the OE locking, the lock wire stays positive rather than pulsing a positive for 1 second. If I attach my dead bolts, the motor will be permanantly powered and will result in a damaged motor. How can I create a 1 second pulse from this motor wire using a relay and resistor setup.

I'm stuck - big time...

Nick
