Hey guys, I'm hoping someone out there can help me out. My brother in law just bought my sister a 96 Cadillac Seville and it apparently has an alarm but no remotes came with it. He went under the dash and saw a toggle & momentary switch along with a red LED near the steering column. It was steadily lit until he started playing with the switches. He called yesterday and he was stuck at the gas station. The car alarm went off and he could not start the car. I told him he has an aftermarket alarm in it that most likely has starter kill. It was probably in valet mode when he bought it until he messed with the switches and set it to passively arm.
He ended up having to get it towed back to his house. He got up under the dash and described a clear case with and adjustment which i explained to him must be a shock sensor. He then found the black alarm brain and we discovered that it is from DEI. I told him to disconnect the orange wire going to the starter kill relay and then try starting it. It started fine so I told him to unplug the brain and remove it until I get a chance to go over and look at the system. From the info on the brain it appears to be Model 705. (No T or A or 000 after it) I looked on the Directed site for an install guide but they apparantly aren't providing them online anymore. I searched the transmitter guide and came across the 705T (Hornet) and the 705A (Automate). Both say that it uses the factory remote so I determined that it's most likely a keyless entry upgrade system like the current Hornet 700T. The guide is available on the DEI site for the 700T owner's manual.
Has the system changed alot or should I be able to use the manual from the 700T so that he will know how to operate it once we get it back in?
If any of you DEI dealers have the install guide for model 705 in .pdf format maybe you could email me the file? My email address is iskidoo@yahoo.com.
Does anyone even know what brand (ie. Hornet, Python, Viper, Valet etc.) the model 705 is from or is it before DEI started buying all the major names?
Also I'm looking around on Ebay to find some Cadillac OEM Keyless Entry Remotes. I'm also hoping one of you might know where to get some online instructions for programming them once I get them.
Haven't looked at the unit yet but I'm guessing it's probably armed by a pulse from the door locks? Does it disarm the same way?
Well thanks for any info you guys can provide...I'm sure you long time DEI installers must have some insight that might help me.
Thank you, Steve

It worked fine until I had him remove the brain. I'm bidding on some OEM remotes now so that he can operate it. The car was just bought used and didn't come with keyless remotes.
