I was wondering if it would be possible to use the Trunk button on the remote of a ML320 to trugger an aftermarket car start system. I am asking because the button is not being used and I though i once read somewhere that the remote starts just need like a trigger to activate them. Any info that you guys could forward along will be greatly appreciated.

What kind of key do you have, blade or i/r? You are also aware you will have to give up a key to make this work as well, they are kinda expensive?

Also here is the tech notes concerning your factory immobilizer and bypassing it.

y works on vehicles with switchblade keys. Vehicles with the Smart Key, a bypass is not available at this time.
CAUTION: There have been some complaints that after a few days or weeks of installing the remote start, the transponder in the keys would get deleted and the car would have to go back to the dealer for reprogramming.
CAUTION: Installation of a remote start system in conjunction with the 555U bypass module may cause deletion of transponder codes/keys from the vehicle immobilizer system. Installation of any Directed Electronics system by a dealer is done at the dealers own risk and the dealer assumes all liability for damages or injury caused by the installation.

I have the switchblade key. Thank you for the info, I don't think that I will be investing in the remote start after all.
