im looking for a wait to start wire on a 2004 ford f-350 super duty diesel. DEI says to use a 528t to interface for the wait to start signal. is there any way to go around this and grab the signal directly at the wait to start bulb, or will that not work? any help from someone who is familair with this vehicle and has done one successfully would be greatly appreciated!!! i have the 528t timer but would like to know if this can be done without using it.. and fyi.. i am using a dei 549R for this install. if it was an audiovox piece i could of simply programed the time delay and been done with this POS awhile ago..

528t is the way to go...the bulb is accually an LED, and wait to start signal is send via data line

i wound up using the 528t with no problems, however the one problem i did have was everytime the remote start would shut down, the dome light would turn on, thus triggering the alarm, so i wound up having to use another 528t with a pulse after shutdown to open up the door trigger wire going to the alarm. anyone else have this problem with this vehicle? i got my door trigger in the pass kick, BLACK/ blue.

I did a 2003 F350 Diesel today & I solved the domelight issue by running separate wires for each door pin sw to the alarm. They are available in the rubber boot of each door. I used diodes to isolate from each other. It worked perfect! Alarm will not trigger unless you open a door . This also solves the problem of extra chirps when setting the alarm because interior light stays on for 30 seconds.

They are also available at the VSM on the firewall center of vehicle, the lock wires are there as well.

could you please tell me in detail how you did this.  What wire? + or - and how does it react, - when door closed, + when door closed and so on.  What diode N4004???

Thanks

Jim
