hey guys, i just purchased this "batman" light from ebay. https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7913697930 (comparable to varad's gothic light) there is 3 wires coming out of it (ground, positve and a yellow wire) i hooked up the ground and the positive and the led came on right away. I was under the impression that this light will only come on if there is a negative ground going into the yellow wire. Is it supposed to come on when just ground/pos are hooked up? Thanks in advance

Ground to ground, positive to Constant +12V, and yellow to something that goes to ground when car is off or ground when armed to alarm. It does appear that it is supposed to light up only if the yellow wire sees a ground. But I suppose this is what you get for getting it from ebay.

Well, I think you should put a diode in between the alarm and starter kill on the ground when armed wire and hook the led to the between the diode and alarm. This way it would light up when the alarm is armed. As for accessory output, if you do this then it will only do light up when the channel is active.

would this diagram work? how can i hook up a switch so that i can turn on the led when the car is running? i imagine hooking another diode and a lead to ground should do the trick..not to sure on how to implement that tho

Yup that is it. You have to remember to include the file type for images to show up, like for you led .jpg. ------------- Certified Security Specialist

Just wire another diode in where you connect the led to the ground when armed wire. Then wire a toggle switch in between the diode and the led.
