Subject: Relay for aftermarket Spal 4 power door

Hi, i'm posting this message because i have a honda civic 97 Lx and i recently installed power locks on the car. The way it works is that if i open either front pass/driver doors, it will unlock all the others. The problem i'm having is that i have a crimestopper (cs-2003DC) alarms and i tried installing the power locks on the alarm so that i can open the car from far and it doesn't work. I tried installed a relay but everytime i go to plug the final ground wire in (from the two 30s) the fuse blows on me. I checked the connections twice, and i even reinstalled all the wires into the relay 3 times and it keeps doing that. I'm not sure what exactly i'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot guys,

p.s this forum is amazing!!!

David

dont hold me to this, but i believe there is a purple and a brown wire......use a meter to make sure they are the right wires.....the system is a - trigger for the door locks. they should hook right up to your alarm....

or try 1-800-345-0327 and ask for tech support...

Hi David, thanks for the reply. I'm a bit confused because if you look at the crimestopper diagram (https://www.crimestopper.com/techweb/ProductDiagrams/cs2003.PDF) there are two purple. There is one that is in the 15 pin switch that is labelled Violet (+) door triger. Then, in the same pin, there is a green wire that is labelled (-) Door triger switch.

If you then look, there is a 5 pin plug-in that has to do with power locks. There, you have the brown, the purple, blue, green and white wires.

I'm not sure if i'm supposed to plug the purple or green wire from the 15 pin connectors to anything....

I'm really confused and my car is in pieces.... please help.

David

door trigger is not the same as door locks.....door trigger is for the dome light.

the purple and brown wire that i was talking about is the colors that are in the door locks harness (the spal colors)
