I have a Viper remote starter on my 2001 Mitsubishi Diamante.   I recently took the vehicle to the dealer since the "service engine soon" lamp was on.

After the dealership checked my car out, the remote starter does not work.  It will turn the engine over but it never starts up. It's as if the remote starter isn't allowing any spark to the cylinders...   Any ideas?

By the way, the reason for the "service engine soon" lamp was the gas cap had a leak. The car pulls a vacuum in the fuel tank for an emissions check. So there wasn't any serious work done under the hood, I'm assuming they just checked diagnostics...

Check the tack wire.  If your alarm/starter does not use that then you have probably lost the programing.  Also check every fuse.  Mechanics are know for being dumb with what they touch.

Mke sure they did not move the Immobilzer module around that the key has lost it's " sweet spot ". If so you will need to reposition the key back into the right spot.
